Chimney Liner Installation

We install chimney flue liners for all types of masonry chimney stacks.

Stainless Steel Liners are there for your safety and also to help the performance of various appliances, notably wood burning or multi fuel stoves. In our experience we have found that stove with liners perform better and are easier to control through the air vents.

Our flue liners are constructed with deeply corrugated BS 1449 316 grade stainless steel and is manufactured into a twin wall flue liner which combines great strength with flexibility. Outer corrugated layer provides a protective casing during the installation process and after installation it helps protect the inner layer from corrosion due to attack by residual deposits. The inner layer is smooth to discourage the build up of soot and other potentially corrosive residues and to encourage the unimpaired flow of flue gasses.

Inner and outer layers are joined by the Triple Lock Joint System.

Acknowledged to be the best jointing system available, the Triple Lock Joint provides strength and stability by distributing forces evenly round the flue liner. The overlapping joint construction protects the joint from the potentially damaging effects of condensation.

Specification

The twin wall construction, with triple lock and overlapping joints, enables our liners to withstand operational temperatures of up to 750° C and short fire temperatures of up to 1000° C – e.g., a chimney fire.

There are three types of steel liner available:

316/316 Stainless Steel Liner

Theses flue liners are a twined walled 316/316 for wood burning appliances or gas fires. These come with a ten year warranty and are ideal for wood burning stoves, gas fires, oil boilers, air vents, extraction fans

904/316 Stainless Steel Liner

This flue system has a twined walled inner 904 grade and 316 grade outer, these are manufactured to above specifications and are ideal for wood burning stoves, multi fuel stove, open fires and gas fires. This has a 20 year warranty.

904/904 Stainless Steel Liner

This flue has a twined walled 904 inner and 904 outer made to the above specification and again ideal for all types of appliances and comes in various sizes. This again has a 20 year warranty.

Isokoat

In old chimneys the mortar joints between the bricks or stonework fail. The mortar becomes porous, turns sandy and crumbles away. Then poisonous fumes, tars and condensation can all leak out of the flue into the home. ISOKOAT is applied under pressure and forced into the cracks and fissures, sealing them, re-pointing the joints and making good the flue wall. Mineral fibre reinforcement in the ISOKOAT ensures that the wet material will not pour or leak away through larger cracks, but will be forced into and fill and bridge them. The coating is built up usually using between 2 and 4 applications to provide a smooth, gas tight flue which will withstand the effects of flue gases for years to come. The flue is fully repaired and sealed with virtually no reduction in size; very important if the correct flue size is to be maintained for the Open Fire or appliance served by the chimney.

This ISOKOAT flue coating and renovating system developed by ISOKERN, has been used in thousands of installations in Europe since the 1950’s. The system has demonstrated its simplicity and reliability and given many an old or leaking chimney a complete new lease of life.
